As a member of the UF chapter of PRSSA, I’ve been given the opportunity to create blog posts for Progressions, a part of PRSSA National. Below you will see excerpts of my published work.

The holiday season presents a great opportunity, albeit a competitive one, for communications professionals and the brands they represent to switch up their promotional strategies and explore some different social media tactics. As members of Gen Z, we represent the potential spending power of approximately $323 billion, but you need to know where to find us and what we’re looking for, and not just when it comes to our Christmas lists. As a public relations student, and a proud Zoomer, I’d like to offer a few tips to help you and your clients to stand out from the crowd.

Unless your cell phone has been dead since November 12, you’ve probably heard something about Taylor Swift’s release of Red (Taylor’s Version). As a public relations professional, having your client drum up as much attention as this album release would be an absolute dream come true. I can only imagine what Swift’s PR team was thinking when they saw that brands have incorporated the country-turned-pop singer in their own marketing tactics, resulting in tons of earned media for Swift.

After a year and a half of Zoom University, we are finally back to face-to-face learning at the University of Florida. Let me start out by saying that I do feel safe being in a classroom. Each student does their part by wearing a mask and being vaccinated and/or getting COVID tested regularly. It feels so good to be back in a room surrounded by like-minded peers and passionate professors. It’s funny seeing the students who you chatted with through video each day in-person now, but I can comfortably ask someone a question, work with a partner and speak up during class again.
