How to do Four Parks in One Day

Four parks in one day? Seems impossible. Well, if you plan your day correctly, this difficult mission turns into a piece of cake. Follow these steps to assure you hit the best points in every park from open to close.

First things first:
1. Make sure you buy a park hopper. Yes, this ticket ranges on the pricier side, but you save on buying passes for multiple days. 2. Check the park hours. You want to start with the park that opens the earliest and end with the park that closes the latest. 3. Get enough sleep the night before. This day lasts for eternity, and you don’t want to cop out too early. 4. FastPass+. You can book three at once, but only for one park at a time.

8 a.m.: Disney’s Hollywood Studios

First, book your FastPass+ for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith for as early as possible. Get to the park before rope drop, and RUN to Starwars: Galaxy’s Edge. Get on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run right away. This ride currently sits as Walt Disney World’s newest and hottest attraction, so check it off ASAP.

Galaxy’s Edge stole that title from Toy Story Land, which opened in the summer of 2018. Now you decide: Slinky Dog Dash or Toy Story Mania! Go with the first if you consider yourself a Disney veteran anxious to try the new coaster. Choose the latter if you’d skip the thrills for a classic, interactive ride. Unfortunately with a day packed like this, you might end up skipping one of the two.

If you consider yourself a sucker for the classics — like myself — wander down to Sunset Boulevard on your way out of the park. If planned well, it should be time to use that Rock ‘N’ Rollercoaster FastPass+. This is where you stop and thank the Disney gods for creating the FastPass system. After you ride, hop onto The Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror for your last spook of the day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

11 a.m.: EPCOT

Walk on over to park number two. EPCOT provides a mix of the future and culture. Try to book a FastPass+ for either Test Track or Soarin’ — whichever is available. Use the other two on your choice of Spaceship Earth, The Seas with Nemo & Friends or Journey into Imagination with Figment. These attractions typically have shorter wait times, but you want to make sure you get full use out of your FastPass+.

The draw to this park? The food, which explains why we arrived just in time for lunch. Choose a country and start snacking. I can’t resist getting nachos from the Mexico Pavillion, but I also make sure I stop at China for the delicious spring rolls. Take advantage of the opportunities for divine cuisine in this park while you get the chance.

After riding your favorite attractions, spend the rest of your afternoon admiring the culture that fills EPCOT and makes this theme park so unique. Take time to explore the stores and entertainment each country offers — this ends up being the most relaxing part of your day.

1:30 p.m.: Disney’s Animal Kingdom

While on your bus ride from EPCOT to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, pull out your phone and start booking — you guessed it — more FastPasses. I recommend booking one for Dinosaur at around 2 p.m., right when you arrive at the park. Make the next one for Expedition Everest around 5 p.m.

Get into the park and ride Dinosaur. Spend some time exploring the carnival games in the surrounding area, however, the best part of your day waits around the corner. Your Animal Kingdom time primarily gets spent in Pandora — the World of Avatar. Take in the beautiful sites of this land but don’t waste too much time. Get in line for Avatar Flight of Passage. This wait time will be the longest of the day, but this ride is a must.

Ideally, your wait lasts around two hours. Yes, this is a lot, but completely normal. Once you ride it, you understand the hype. Now take it back to Asia for a journey through the mountains with a “friendly” yeti, and you’re off for the day.

6 p.m.: The Magic Kingdom

You made it to the most magical, happiest park of all. As soon as you walk down Main Street, U.S.A., the smell of sugar and popcorn fills the air and you truly feel that you belong in a Disney movie. Grab a bite to eat at one of the counter service restaurants and take a little break. Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe provides burgers, fries and salads, while conveniently located right outside your next ride.

Head over to Space Mountain for Magic Kingdom’s longest wait. While waiting on line, make your FastPasses for Splash Mountain, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. As it gets later, the wait times rapidly decrease so you should be able to hit all of the major points.

The number one attraction you cannot miss? The fireworks. Plan our your ride times accordingly so you make it into for Happily Ever After. You want to start waiting early so you get the dream spot for viewing: right in front of the castle. For those who have seen it before, watch from behind the castle in Fantasyland for a different experience.

There you have it folks; four parks in one day done just like that. Although it may seem challenging, Walt Disney once said, “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.”
